Nine (9) members appointed for four (4) year terms.
Reviews and acts on:
- All subdivision and land development plans, under the Subdivision/Land
Development Ordinance requirements.
- All zoning Ordinance or Map Amendment application requests.
Advises Council and Staff on zoning/development matters, such as:
- Changes to Zoning Ordinance or Comprehensive Plan.
- Any special programs like LERTA tax abatement program.
Makes recommendations to Zoning Hearing Board on all zoning/land development plans
submitted to ZHB.
Meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.

Zoning Hearing Board
Five (5) members appointed for five (5) year terms; two (2) Alternates appointed for three (3) year terms.
Acts as the “minor judiciary” on zoning matters pursuant to the PA Municipalities
Planning Code, hearing and deciding:
- Application requests for zoning variances.
- Application requests for special exceptions.
- Appeals from determinations of the Zoning Officer and Building Official.

Monroe County Control Center Board of Directors
Two (2) members of a four (4) member intermunicipal Board appointed for two (2) year terms.
Serves as the governing body for the MC Control Center, which while owned by the
Boroughs of East Stroudsburg and Stroudsburg, provides emergency dispatching
services for police, fire, ambulance, and other personnel to all the municipalities in Monroe County and many other public agencies.
Meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 12:00 noon.
