The Public Works Department is responsible for the maintenance of street, storm drainage and traffic control facilities in the Borough.  Street sweeping, road patching and paving, line painting, striping and signing are included in the Department's responsibilities.  It is also responsible for maintaining the collection lines of the Borough's sewerage treatment system and the distribution system for the Borough's water system.  This department is also responsible for parks, grounds, building and vehicle maintenance.

The Department's certified wastewater treatment plant operators are responsible for maintaining the Borough's 2.25 MGD sewerage treatment plant and related sewage disposal facilities.

The Department is also responsible for maintaining the Borough's Water Filtration Plant, wells, reservoirs, and storage facilities.  The water system is staffed by certified water treatment plant operators and a full-time  maintenance employee.
